Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or themanufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award inaccordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation identifies the officewhere additional information can be obtained concerning qualificationrequirements are cited in each individual solicitation.This part required engineering source approval by the design controlactivity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing uniquedesign capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by thequalified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approvedsource(s). The approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturingknowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to theGovernment, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining thequality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance withthe design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizantGovernment engineering activity. The qualification procedures must beapproved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over thepart in the intended application.
