Description
The National Park Service has a requirement for the design and installation of a fire sprinkler system at Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve near Arco, Idaho 83213. This project will be partially or wholly funded from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) and the contractor must meet all reporting requirements of ARRA as described in FAR 52.204-11, Section 1512 of ARRA, and other reports as required by law or regulation, additional information may also be found at www.federalreporting.gov Please note, this announcement is a revision to the synopsis published on October 23, 2009, the NAICS code has been reclassified to allow additional contractors the opportunity to compete for this ARRA funded project. The acquisition has been offered to the U.S. Small Business Administration under the 8(a) Program and will be awarded on the basis of competition limited to eligible 8(a) firms. It has been determined that competition will be limited to eligible 8(a) firms located within the state of Idaho serviced by the Boise District Office, and other 8(a) construction firms with a bona fide place of business within the state of Idaho, and the assigned NAICS code. All other 8(a) BD Participants are deemed ineligible to submit offers. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code assigned to this project is 236220 (Addition, Alteration and Renovation General Contractors, Commercial and Institutional Building) with a corresponding small business size standard of $33.5M. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated to be between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The anticipated period of performance is 240 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Bonding will be required, specific information will be provided in the solicitation. The work consists of providing automatic wet pipe (antifreeze) fire suppression system, buried and above ground distribution piping, associated utility buildings necessary to house plumbing and other related items for complete coverage of 6 park buildings which are managed as historic structures. The system shall be designed and installed in accordance with National Fire Protection Association codes and standards identified in this specification and National Park Service standards. The solicitation and any amendments to the solicitation will be available through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) (www.fbo.gov) website and the Department of Interior, National Business Center, NBC IDEAS website, http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The solicitation will be posted in approximately 15 days from the date of this notice, no further information will be available until the solicitation is posted and phone request will not be honored. A site visit will be scheduled after the solicitation is released and will be announced electronically. Proposals will be due on or about December 17, 2009. All dates in this announcement are estimated and are subject to change. All interested parties are responsible for checking the FBO website to ensure that they have the most current information.
