- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Beckley, West Virginia is seeking potential sources capable of providing local Pest Management and Control Services in/around the VAMC located in Beckley, WV. This requirement shall be performed by certified, trained and licensed pest control operators in any or all categories as required by the State of West Virginia. All pest management applicators will be certified by the State of West Virginia in general household pests, rodents and termites. All pest control operations must conform to all Federal, State, and local governing regulations pertaining to the performance of and the use of pest control chemicals and the labeled directions. All Integrated Pest Management (IPM) tasks shall be accomplished to meet the guidelines as shown in National Pest Control Association's good practice statement. The contractor is to provide detailed, site-specific recommendations for structural and procedural modifications to aid in pest prevention. Services shall include surveillance, trapping, pesticide application, and pest removal components. The contract requires pest control of (1) predatory pests (lice, bedbugs, fleas, mites, ticks, bee's wasps, mosquitoes, scorpions, etc.) Control of (2) product pests (saw-tooth grain beetle, red/confused flour beetles, trogoderma beetles, grain moths, etc.) Control of (3) mice and rats. Control of (4) vertebrate pests (dogs, cats, bats, squirrels, gophers, moles, skunks, snakes, rabbits, birds, etc.) The contractor shall perform routine services that do not adversely affect patient or employee health or productivity during normal operating hours 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. The period of performance is from April 01, 2010 (or date of award) through September 30, 2010 with four (4) one (1) year renewal options that can be exercised by the Government. The applicable NAICS Code is 561710 / Exterminating and Pest Control Services / size standard $7.0Mil. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned; firm's experience in providing local Pest Management and Control Services within the VAMC in a professional setting and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
