Description
RECOVERY--RECOVERY--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be issuing an Invitation for Bid for Repair and Paint Service Bridge, Littleville Lake Dam, Huntington, Massachusetts. The proposed work consists of concrete repairs and painting of the service bridge at Littleville Lake Dam, Huntington, Masschusetts. Specific work tasks involve sawcutting and replacing portions of the concrete curb nearest the control tower, installing new bridge deck drains, placing elastomeric sealant in expansion joints, and painting of the service bridge. Painting work involves commercial blast cleaning of approximately 10% of the steel surfaces of the bridge (areas showing deterioration and corrosion), brush-off blast cleaning of the remaining 90% of the steel surfaces, priming of areas that received commercial blast cleaning, and finish coating of all steel surfaces. The new finish paint shall be an aluminum paint. The bridge is currently coated with an aluminum top coat and primer. The Contractor shall assume that lead paint remains on the bridge from previous paintings, primarily in the primer coat. Serious fall hazards exist on this project and the Contractor shall take all necessary precautions and employ fall hazard protections. This job has very unique requirements; scaffolding, work on a bridge with serious fall hazards, full containment of lead based paint present a challenge for accomplishing this work in a timely manner. Also this project involves multiple facets of construction resources: painting, scaffolding, containment of lead based paint, concrete repairs, etc. It is critical that this work be completed by June 2010.The estimated cost of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. This solicitation will be available on or about 14 November 2009 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov). Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests will be accepted. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is UNRESTRICTED. The applicable NAICS code is 237310 with a Small Business Size Standard of $33,500,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the New England District.
