- THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0017 on or about November 10, 2009, for the RECOVERY Timberline Lodge Exterior Painting project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after November 10, 2009 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. Timberline Lodge was constructed by the Works Progress Administration in 1937. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original design and construction are an important consideration for this project. Many areas of the Lodge are unique in feature and difficult to access. The work will consist of, though is not limited to, the construction of scaffolding; pressure cleaning; surface preparation; and priming and painting the exterior of the Timberline Lodge. All work shall be completed during the summer/fall season estimated starting in mid June to late September 2010. The Government’s estimate is between $100,000 and $250,000. PROJECT LOCATION. Proceed east from Portland, OR on US Highway 26 to Government Camp (approximately 50 miles from Portland). At the east end of Government Camp, turn left onto State Highway 173 (Forest Raod 50), Timberline Road, and follow the road 6 miles to Timberline Lodge. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
