- The below Item Purchase Description (IPD) is for a bag, odor barrier flexible bag for food contaminated plastic waste. (The bags are used primarily on submarine ships) At this time we are conducting a sources sought request for information to determine the market industry of the item. Please take some time to review the specification of the bag and determine if this is an item your company currently manufactures or could manufacture/produce. We will consolidate a hand list of interested vendors for this item. The potential of a future procurement will be determined after this RFI. Please email Lonnie.Cummings@gsa.gov or call 212-264-2698 with any feedback or comments by the close of this RFI which is November 12th 2009. It should be noted that samples are not required at this time but maybe required in the future should an RFP become available. The samples would be tested through the Navy in Lakehurst, NJ. NSN: 8105-01-525-0531 BAG, ODOR BARRIER: In accordance with MIL-PRF-29597C dated August 25, 2004. Type II - High strength (Submarine use only) Class 2 - Heat seal closure Size - 40.00 " long X 17.00" wide Application - Flexible odor barrier bags used for the disposal of food-contaminated plastic waste Unit pack - 50 bags on per roll, perforated between each bag PACKAGING/PACKING: Each roll of 50 bags shall be individually packaged in the corrugated box in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss or damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and the Uniform Freight Classification.
