Description
Please see the additional questions and answers and clarifications: Questions 10/22/2009 1. Work Item 2: Please advise what heat type/source the tug has (for electric usage pricing). - Answer Refer to Part III of this amendment for electrical service requirements for the Tug. Among other things, this electrical service will provide power to the diesel boiler used to heat the Tug. The power draw of the boiler is approximately 40 Watts during startup, minimal at all other times. Refer to Part II of this amendment for the requirements for heating of the Tug while the fuel tanks are being cleaned. 2. Work Item 7: Please advise what the Fairwater cone material shall be. - Answer Per the List of Materials on Drawing YTB799-203-4372254 Propeller, Fairwater and Cap, the Fairwater cone is to be stainless steel. Part II. Modification to ITEM 11 CLEANING OF FUEL TANKS (OPTIONAL) Add the following text as a new paragraph just before the word "NOTE:" The Tug Cheraw uses a diesel fired boiler for heat, which is normally supplied from the day tank. If this item is awarded, the Contractor shall make provisions for heating of the Tug during the period of time that fuel is unavailable from the day tank. Such provisions may include running a temporary fuel line to the boiler from the Contractor's fuel storage, or providing heat by an alternate method acceptable to the government. Part III. Modifications to Special Provision SP-12 SERVICES TO BE FURNISHED BY THE CONTRACTOR WITHOUT FURTHER COST 1. Renumber the subparagraphs as follows: SP-13.1 should be SP-12.2, SP-12.2 should be SP-12.3, SP-12.3 should be SP-12.4. 2. Replace the last sentence of renumbered subparagraph 12.2 with the following text: The tug will require 100 amps at 440 VAC.
