Description
Synopsis: The VA Medical Center, 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI is seeking a contractor to provide all labor and transportation necessary to entail the provision for Laborers to assist the Providence VA Medical Center (PVAMC) with snow removal operations. Snow Removal Laborer Support 1.The contractor will provide ten (10) laborers during snow/ice events at the PVAMC. 2.Laborer duties will be primarily utilizing the use of a snow shovel, snow melt push spreader and operation of a gasoline engine snow thrower. 3.All equipment and material will be provided by the PVAMC. 4.Work assignments shall be provided by the PVAMC Staff. Contractor shall have a Supervisor on-site responsible for supervision of the Laborers. Response Time - The contractor will be required to provide 24/7-days a week response to snow/ice events with-in 2 hour time frame. 1.Contractor laborers will be paid from the time they Check-in at the PVAMC Building 6. 2.The first eight (8) hours will be paid at straight time. Hours worked after the initial eight (8) hours will be paid at the overtime rate, in accordance with the Service Contract Act. Duration - This service contract will be a Base Year, with Two (2) One (1) Year Options at the discretion of the VA Medical Center. Sign-In/Out - All Contractor Employees shall be responsible to sign in at Building 6 and obtain mandatory badges to be worn at all times while on the facility. Contractor Employees shall sign-out at the end of the work day. Parking - Parking at the facility is limited. Contractor Employees shall park in Lot Number 10 or in Davis Park. Smoking - Smoking is only permitted at the one designated smoking shelter. Contractor Employees are subject to fines if smoking on the campus, except for the designated area. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. This is a market survey for informational and planning purposes only. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement. This announcement constitutes an official Request for Information (RFI) as defined by FAR 15.201(e). The VA Medical Center is planning to solicit a contract with a Base Year 11/16/2009 through 4/16/2010 with 2 Option Years. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 561320 and the size standard is $13.5 Million.
