Description
THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0008 on or about November 4, 2009, for the RECOVERY One Duck Trail project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after November 4, 2009 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The purpose of this project is to construction/reconstruct approximately one mile of the One Duck Trail. Work includes construction gravel trail with retainer logs and turnpike trail, installing culverts, building step and run boardwalk and bridges, and installing log steps. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government’s estimate is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The One Duck Trail is on Prince of Wales Island near Craig, Alaska. The trailhead is located on State Highway 913 (Hydaburg Road) at approximately milepost 2.5, 20 miles by paved road from Craig and 12 miles from Hollis, Alaska. Prince of Wales Island is accessible by scheduled airline service, boat, barge, and daily ferry service via the Inter-Island Ferry Authority from Ketchikan, Alaska. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total HUB-ZONE Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. Prospective bidders who wish to provide comments on the set-aside matter should provide these comments to the contracting officer on or before November 4, 2009. Indeed, all prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
