This information is being sought for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as an invitation for Bids, a Request for Proposals, Solicitation, Request for Quotes, or an indication the Government will contract for the items or services herein. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this notice. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this source sought. Any response received will not be used as a proposal. No official solicitation currently exists in connection to this request for information (RFI). If in the future an official solicitation is released, there is no guarantee that sources responding to this RFI will be included on the source list. **NO QUESTIONS WILL BE ENTERTAINED** The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Acquisitions and Grants Services (OAGS), Division of Acquisition Operations (DAO) is seeking to identify sources with capabilities or prior experience in collecting urine samples from numerous pediatric patients who are undergoing cardiac surgery or who are critically ill. Objective: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Office of Regulatory Affairs, Division of Human Resource Development (DHRD) has developed Level II curriculums within the area of food inspections for FDA, state, local & tribal regulators conducting inspections. To support Level II curriculums, DHRD has developed two food safety courses: Juice HACCP and Conducting Juice Inspections Course (FD319), and Food GMPs Course (FD150). DHRD needs an expert in juice science/technology/microbiology, and general food microbiology and food preservation, and working understanding and application of FDA regulations and guidance. This expert will develop and deliver training material in support of these three courses. Scope of Work DHRD is seeking an expert in food microbiology and controlling factors to support requirements of the current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPS) in 21 CFR 110, food preservation and technology, Juice Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs, application of FDA’s Juice HACCP regulations (21 CFR 113) and guidance. This expert will develop and deliver training material in support of two food safety courses as outlined in this Scope of Work: Juice HACCP and Conducting Juice Inspections (FD319), and Food GMPs (FD150). For FD319 courses, the individual shall be knowledgeable in the arena of juice manufacturing and HACCP, fresh and processed fruit and vegetable production and manufacturing, low acid canned foods, fluid product processing and pasteurization, and juice pasteurization alternatives approved by FDA. The individual shall be knowledgeable and have experience with the Juice HACCP Alliance training material, and FDA public health and food safety regulations and guidance. For FD150 courses, the individual shall be knowledgeable in food microbiology and general food manufacturing and processing. The individual shall have experience in instructional design of educational programs, and research. Juice HACCP and Conducting Juice Inspections Course (FD319): Develop and provide instructions/presentations on juice HACCP programs, to include: hazards associated with juice manufacturing, processing equipment (heat exchange systems, non-thermal treatment, fluid handling and packaging), establishing critical controls, verification and validation procedures, 5-log reduction performances and criteria, and general juice plant sanitation programs and monitoring. Instructions/presentations will be provided during allocated time slots Monday-Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Contractor will serve as a course cadre member, facilitator during group exercises, participate in course review and provide opportunity for final clarification of course content, and grade final examinations on Friday 8:00 am – noon.
