Description
The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with Philips Medical Systems, 22100 Bothell Everett HWY, Bothell, WA 98021, USA, The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334510 and the business size standard is 500; for the purchase of Xcelera R3 Upgrades and Extensions (with 2 work stations); under the authority of FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirement. This equipment will operate along with preexisting equipment that is currently being used in the unit and must be compatible and operate interchangeably with Philips existing equipment. This notice may represent the only notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to October 27, 2009 will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct any future competitive requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is NIACRB-10-005 and is issued as a "Intent to Sole Source." This solicitation document and incorporated provisions clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-26.
