Description
Request for Information (RFI)- This is not a solicitation for bids/proposals but a Request for Information. This synopsis is issued for the sole purpose of the Product Manager Soldier Clothing & Individual Equipment to conduct Market Research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This effort is to validate the Governments efforts to develop a technical data package for a canopy release assembly. The ultimate goal of this effort is to identify and qualify potential vendors who possess the capability and capacity to produce a canopy release assembly for use on static line personnel parachute systems. The Canopy Release Assembly shall be manufactured to meet the requirements in the Drawing Number: X11-1-7777, Female Fitting Assembly, NSN: TBD. A copy of the technical drawings is available upon request to the project director. Currently there are no vendors qualified to manufacture this item. Prospective vendors may be added to a list of qualified vendors for the Female Fitting Assembly, NSN: 1670-XX-XXX-XXXX, Part Number: X11-1-7777-1. Respondents are requested to review the drawings and: 1. Submit comments and edits to the technical drawings provided 2. Request clarification on details to the technical drawings provided 3. Conduct a review of tolerance analysis of all technical drawings and provide findings 4. Provide Manufacturability assessment for the technical drawings provided to include: a. cost projections for initial start up b. Any lead times (Manufacturing, materials, equipment, etc.) c. Monthly production capacity & capability d. Projected Step-ladder unit costs Information provided to the Government under this market research is provided to the Government at no cost and will be held as competition sensitive if so marked by respondents.
