- The Program Manager Individual Combat and Equipment (PM ICE), Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is seeking potential sources and best practice information toward designing, developing, and procuring Individual Load Bearing Equipment. The Individual Load Bearing Equipment must consist of state of the art load carriage techniques. This will optimally distribute the load over the torso with or without torso personal protective equipment (PPE). In designing, developing Individual Load Bearing Equipment, companies are expected to apply best practice human-factors, PPE Integration analysis and business analysis to meet the needs of Marines. Berry Amendment applies. Armor & Load Bearing Team, PM ICE, MARCORSYSCOM will host an Individual Load Bearing Equipment Industry Day on 22 January 2010, at Embassy Suites Hotel located at 110 W. 600 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101. The Individual Load Bearing Equipment Industry Day will be held in a pre-designated conference room. The Industry Day is centered on a limited number of individual sessions during which companies in the Individual Load Bearing Equipment Industry are able to discuss company-specific Individual Load Bearing ideas and information. Appointments are on a first scheduled basis. Once the schedule is full, any remaining requests may be accommodated by a future PM ICE Industry Day. All presentation items must be printed prior to arrival, as administrative support will not be available. NO computers will be allowed to attach to the facility's visual projectors or visuals aides. Individual sessions will be from 0700 to 1400 on 22 January 2010 with the last session being scheduled to begin at 1300. Sessions will not exceed forty-five (45) minutes and will be on a first scheduled basis. Individual session participation is limited to four (4) persons per company. Companies desiring to schedule individual sessions should register no later than 1600 ET, 5 January 2010 by contacting Ms. Erin Tucker at 703-432-3320 or email at PMICE@usmc.mil. Any proprietary information presented at Industry Day may be used in establishing future Marine Corps requirements, but specific offeror information will be safeguarded as proprietary. This RFI does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this contemplated effort. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an obligation by Government to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor participation in this RFI.
