Description
The US Geological Survey, Central Geologic Hazards Team, Golden Colorado has a requirement for non-personal services to provide outside-of- hours (OOH) support on the full range of computer requirements when permanent USGS Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) staff is not available. Services will include IT response services for critical IT infrastructure and network problems, 12- hours (6 PM - 6AM) Monday through Friday and 24 hours on Saturday, Sunday, Holidays, 365 days per year. The contractor will act as the Tier 1 responder, meaning they will receive the initial notification of a system problem from ANSS automated notification systems or ANSS staff. They will be responsible for coordinating the resolution of the problem including fault analysis, correction of the problem, and/or notifying ANSS subject matter experts if problem cannot be resolved by contractor. Services require expertise in providing OOH support to mission-critical real-time systems; demonstrated expertise in fault analysis of complex computer systems/networks, experience in administering operating systems running on Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux and Windows 2003 servers, as well as, experience in applications such as; Apache, PHP, MYSQL, Oracle, and possess knowledge and understanding of IT security. Senior level staff should possess certified skills and training necessary for escalation and resolution of urgent and/or unresolved issues, when required. The government anticipates awarding a contract for a one year base period, plus four 12-month option periods. The proposed contact is 100% set-aside for small businesses. The Request for Proposals, solicitation no.10CRSS0004, will be available on or about November 2, 2009.
