Description
The Department of Defense awarded a contract to International SOS Assistance, Inc. of Trevose, Pennsylvania to provide health care support services, dental care services and claims processing for the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) in locations outside the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. The Contractor will assist the Chief, TRICARE Overseas Program Branch, TRICARE Area Office (TAO) Directors, and Military Treatment Facility (MTF) commanders in operating an integrated health care delivery system which effectively combines the resources of the military's direct medical care system with the Contractor's health care support services. The contract includes services for active duty family members enrolled in TRICARE Prime who require emergency health care services while traveling overseas. The contract also calls for the establishment of host nation provider networks around military treatment facilities. The contract offers Prime-like programs in both MTF and remote locations to active duty service members and their command-sponsored family members, including National Guard and Reserve members on orders for more than 30 days. The type of contract is Fixed Price Award Fee. The performance period includes a base year (1 November 2009 through 31 August 2010) and five one-year option periods. The base year award was executed at $16,900,988.00. The total estimated value of the contract, if all option periods are exercised, is $269,052,427. Services will begin on 1 September 2010. This requirement was competitively procured. Source selection procedures in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation were used to determine the successful offeror.
