Description
Contractor to provide full Architect/Engineering services as required for preparation of complete contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, including services throughout construction period for Project No. 596A4-10-101 "FCA Replace Low Voltage Equipment, CDD" for the VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. This project replaces low voltage equipment that are in code violation and have reached the end of their life expectancy at the Cooper Drive Division. Project includes replacement of low voltage transformers, electrical switchboards, motor control centers, breakers, panels and other low voltage electrical equipment that are in code violation or have reached end of life expectancy. During schematic design all low voltage equipment shall be evaluated and a report shall be submitted recommending equipment to be replaced within available budget. Project design shall clearly show work required, phasing of work required, and instructions to construction contractor regarding how to accomplish the necessary renovations in a 24/7 medical environment taking into consideration demolition, dust control, infection control, and specialized facility requirements as discussed with VA staff. Also included will be limitations, e.g. work required to be completed outside of standard administrative hours, work limited to periods shorter than a single shift, etc., for specific locations in the project. Bid deductions will be built into the scope of work of the project to allow for flexibility in construction award. Construction Cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Area of consideration is limited to a 100 mile radius of the Lexington VA Medical Center. Firms desiring consideration must submit THREE copies of SF 330, not later than 2:00 PM CT, August 6, 2009. This procurement is open to both large and small businesses. NAICS 541330. Contract award is subject to the availability of VA funds. A/E Selection criteria will include: 1) Team Proposed for this Project; 2) Proposed Management Plan; 3) Previous Experience of Proposed Team; 4) Location of A/E firm; 5) Proposed Design Approach; 6) Project control; 7) estimating effectiveness. 8) Sustainable Design; 9) Miscellaneous Experience and Capabilities. This is not a request for proposal. THREE copies of SF 330 should be mailed to Sherri-Lyn Teeters, Contracting Officer, Acquisition Service Center VISN 9, 1639 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 400, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. No faxed or emailed SF 330s will be accepted. Do not contact the Lexington VA Medical Center with questions concerning this request for SF 330 forms. Contractors must be registered in CCR.
