- Description
- Recovery-Broadband SeismometersThe Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), has a requirement to purchase several types of broadband seismometers for earthquake and volcano monitoring. This equipment will be used in the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS), the Global Seismographic Network (GSN), and the Volcano Program to serve the needs of earthquake and volcano monitoring, engineering, and research communities as well as national, state, and local governments, emergency response organizations, and the general public. Anticipated applications of these devices include seismographic stations on the global, national, and regional scale as well as applications such as volcano monitoring. It is anticipated that the place of performance will be at the contractor's facilities. The Government anticipates award of a multi commercial, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contracts. Funds will be obligated through the issuance of fixed price delivery orders. The USGS has developed three sets of specifications for three different levels of performance to address a broad range of applications for these sensors. The procurement is anticipated to include a period of performance of 12 months for the basic contract and four 12 months option periods. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about November 20, 2009 with proposals being due on or about December 15, 2009. The offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation and any amendments (if any). A formal solicitation, statement of work and technical exhibits are not available for release at this time. This requirement is being issued as full and open competition. The USGS anticipates making awards for sensors in at least the top two classes and possibly in all three, depending on the proposals. However, one award will be reserved for a small business. It is anticipated that a minimum of three awards will be made plus one Small Business (SB) award. In the event there are no SB offerors found to be qualified or the pricing cannot be mutually agreed upon, the SB award will not be made. The maximum total dollar amount to be awarded for all contracts under these ID/IQ contracts will not exceed the threshold of $4,000,000.00 over the five year period.
