FBO Synopsis Notice Type: synopsis Response Date: October 26, 2010 (No later than THIRTY (30) DAYS after receipt of the Solicitation Issue Date. However, this RFP is being issued on an “open and continuous” basis and responses will be considered until the official closing date of October 26, 2010). Classification Code: Q—Medical Services NAICS: 622110 General, Medical and Surgical Hospitals Location: The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Tucson Area is soliciting proposals from interested facilities for inpatient/outpatient and surgical hospital services for eligible American Indians and Alaska Natives. The following IHS Areas will be authorized to utilize the resultant contract: Tucson, Navajo, Phoenix, and Albuquerque. The Tucson Area IHS oversees the delivery of healthcare to users in the Southern Arizona area; the Phoenix IHS Area oversees the delivery of healthcare to users across the areas of central Arizona, northern Nevada and Northeastern Utah. The Navajo Area IHS oversees the delivery of healthcare to users in the Northern Arizona, Southern Utah, Western New Mexico and Colorado area. The Albuquerque IHS Area oversees the delivery of healthcare to users across New Mexico, Southern Colorado and Western Texas. Title: Inpatient/Outpatient Medical and Surgical Hospital Services for Indian Health Service (IHS) Contract Health Service (CHS) beneficiaries. Descriptions: RFP # 249-10-0001 Opening Date: October 26, 2009 Close Date: October 26, 2010 (No later than THIRTY (30) DAYS after receipt of the Solicitation Issue Date. However, this RFP is being issued on an “open and continuous” basis and responses will be considered until the official closing date of October 26, 2010). The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Tucson Area is soliciting proposals from interested facilities for inpatient/outpatient and surgical hospital services for eligible American Indians and Alaska Natives. Contract awards resulting from this RFP will be made in accordance with the IHS Payment Policy which requires IHS to contract with only those providers who will accept, as payment in full, reimbursement at rates no higher than Medicare allowable rates (including deductibles and co-payments). Therefore, contracts will be awarded with the understanding that future referrals, to the maximum extent possible will be made only to providers with established contractual arrangements, which provide for reimbursement at no higher than Medicare allowable rates. The contractors shall provide all medically necessary inpatient/outpatient health and surgical hospital services and necessary personnel, facilities, equipment, supplies, pharmaceuticals, etc. to provide such services. Services must be requested or referred by a designated IHS Contracting Officer or the authorized representatives of the Contracting Officer, whose name(s), organizational component, and dollar limitation per order, shall be furnished to the Contractor by a designated IHS Contracting Officer. The Government may evaluate the quality of professional and administrative services provided, but retains no control over the medical professional aspects of services rendered (e.g., professional judgments, and diagnosis for specific medical treatment). This solicitation will result in a multiple award, indefinite-quantities contract with one base and four option years. Request for copies of the RFP 249-10-0001 will be available on October 26, 2009 with proposals due no later than THIRTY (30) DAYS after receipt of the Solicitation Issue Date.
