Description
RECOVERY - This action is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Actof 2009. In compliance with this Act, the Government posts this notice that task order02-08-2010 was issued under contract NAS5-01080 for Phase I of the WFF HorizontalIntegration Facility (HIF). The HIF is a 38,000SF facility to be located at NASAsWallops Flight Facility to support Medium Class ELV projects. The entire facility will beconstructed as a Pre-engineered Metal Building on a pile supported concrete foundationwith a floors rated at 250PSF. It consists of a 60 (Eave height) High Bay Area withapproximately 245 x 90 of interior floor space. The High Bays will have 3 doors whichare over 25 wide and over 45 high. The operations in the High Bay will be supported bytwo bridge cranes spanning the 90 width with 45 Hook Heights. Lifting capacities of theCritical Lift cranes will be rated for 25-Tons and 70-Tons capacity. Support Systems willinclude Fire Protection and Blast Protection Systems, Lightning Protection, Humidity &Temperature Control Systems, Compressed Air, Special Electric Power Systems, ExplosionProof Devices and Sniffers. Access ramps will be provided to transport the vehicles intothe elevated floor spaces. The High Bay Integration Area will be supported by approx.14,000SF of crew support space which will include areas for Warehouse Storage, BatteryStorage, Lab Space, Restrooms, Breakroom, Comm, and Mechanical & Electrical Rooms.<P>This award notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.This task order award wasissued under an existing Cost Plus Award Term/Fee/IDIQ Incentive Fee Contract,NAS5-01080, which was made on a competitive basis. The award of services under thiscontract was necessitated to mitigate project risks of launch processing delays for theNASA Commercial Cargos (COTS) demonstrations and Commercial Resupply Services (CRS)missions. The prime contractor intends to award a fixed price subcontract for this work.
