Description
RECOVERY - BLUE LEDGE MINE, ROGUE RIVER - SISKIOU NATIONAL FOREST, MEDFORD, OR The United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Region 6 is hereby offering an opportunity for interested firms to attend a site visit at the Blue Ledge Mine, located in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, Medford, Oregon. Maps, preliminary design, and technical information are available for viewing and downloading from the Public Notices section at http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/rogue-siskiyou/projects/mines/ The purpose of the visit is to provide information to qualified firms about a proposed Removal Action and Post-Removal maintenance and monitoring tasks, as a follow-on to IDIQ Contract AG-04 6W-C--07-0008, Task Order AG-05K3-D-09-0022 previously awarded to URS GROUP INC, PORTLAND OR 97201 for Removal Design, Site Surveys, and Materials Investigations. The site visit will be conducted by Pete Jones, Region 6 On-Scene coordinator on October 27, 2009. The tour will first convene at 9 AM in Oregon Room A at the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest Supervisor’s Office, located at 3040 Biddle Road, Medford, OR. Government transportation to the site is not provided. Those wishing to visit the project site on their own will need to borrow a gate key during normal business hours from the Star Ranger Station office, located at 6941 Upper Applegate Road, Jacksonville, Oregon, 97530. SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE -This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought Notice only. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is for market research purposes to determine if capable, qualified firms relative to North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 562910 Remediation Services (size standard of $7,000,000 in gross annual receipts or income as defined in 13 CFR 121.104) possess the capability to support this requirement. Responses to this sources sought notice shall not constitute responses to any solicitation, which is not currently available. As stipulated in FAR 15.201, responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely within the Government's discretion. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not individually be notified of the results of any government assessments. The Government’s evaluation of the capability statements received will factor into whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses, or any particular small business designation (e.g. SDVOSB, HUBZone, 8(a), SDB, WOSB, VOSB, etc.). THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT NOR IS THIS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTES, OR BID. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR INFORMATION OBTAINED OR FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY FIRMS ATTENDING THE SITE VISIT. The removal action contractor and workers must be HAZWOPER certified in order to perform removal activities on a hazardous site per OSHA 29CFR 1910.120. Abandoned mine removal actions are generally addressed through the National Contingency Plan, 40 CFR 300. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references directly to Pete Jones at US Forest Service, 645 Washington St., Ashland, OR 97520, or during the site visit. No feedback or evaluations will be provided regarding the information provided..
