Description
The Bridger-Teton National Forest is planning to have the Gunsite Pass Bridge constructed in the summer of 2010. The forest would like to hold a site visit for the project with prospective contractors before snow blankets the ground this fall. This special notice and site visit does not guarantee that a contract award will be made. This project consists of replacing an existing multispan timber bridge across the Gros Ventre River with a new 16' wide, single-lane, 140' long, 2-span, pre-cast/pre-stressed concrete bulb tee girder bridge with weathering steel railing and cast-in-place abutments and wingwalls. The foundation system will consist of steel pipe piles with concrete caps. The new bridge will be constructed just upstream of the existing bridge. Some roadway realignment will be necessary to line up with the new bridge approaches. The approaches and bridge will be paved. The existing bridge will remain in service during construction. An existing telephone cable will need to be relocated and placed on the new bridge. The timber stringers from the existing bridge will be salvaged and stored at the Goosewing Guard Station located approximately 1-mile from the project site. Other existing bridge materials shall be removed and disposed of off National Forest system lands. The project is located on the Jackson Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Teton County, Wyoming. The site work for this project is estimated to begin spring 2010. The estimated contract completion is October 15, 2010. The estimated price range is $500,000 and $1,000,000. There will be an organized site visit for the project on October 27, 2009 at 10:30am. All interested vendors shall meet at the Bridger-Teton National Forest Supervisors Office located at 340 N. Cache in Jackson, Wyoming. The proposed project listed here is a HUBZone set-aside.
