Description
The Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or "VA"), located at 1201 N.W. 16th Street, Miami, FL 33125, intends to release a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered VA-248-09-RA-0582, for a project entitled Life Safety Corrections Phase II. The current intention of the VA is to procure these services competitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. This is intended to be a competitive RFP, meaning that interested offerors shall perform the following duties: provide all labor, material, equipment and insurance necessary to seal large openings in concrete fire/smoke rated chases and corridor walls on all floors (except 1st and 2nd floors) of Building One (1); validate the existing conditions and provide the necessary services to correct all findings identified in regards to fire rated walls in Building One (1) 1st and 2nd floors, Building Seven (7) & Building Ten (10). This project will also remove non-compliant sealers found within the project areas and replace with approved fire patching materials. All work shall be performed at the VA. The VA intends to release this RFP with competition restricted completely to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The applicable NAICS code will be 236220, "Commercial and Institutional Building Construction," with an applicable small business size standard of $33.5 Million. The magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 The Period of Performance is expected to be one hundred twenty (160) days Performance and payment bond will be required within ten (10) days of award. The VA anticipates the use of a "best value/tradeoffs" using 1 Past Performance, 2 Contractor Key Personnel Qualifications and 3 Price, listed in order of importance. The Request for Proposal is expected to be released on or about 30 October 2009, unless this notice is modified, the full RFP will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov) sometime between that date and the end of November 2009. This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
