Description

NAVAIR NAWCAD Lakehurst intends to enter into a sole source contract with General Atomics for the Development of Engineering and Life Cycle Support Services during the Electormagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) Production Phase. This requirement consists of engineering and logistics products and services in support of the production of the EMALS ship set that is to be installed on the CVN 78, and support of the Life Cycle Support facility at the System Development and Demonstration (SDD) test site at Lakehurst, NJ. The Government intends to procure these services and products under the authority of 10 USC 2304( c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation Section 6.302-1. General Atomics, the designer and developer of the EMALS system is the only source possessing the requisite system knowledge, engineering expertise, and technical data necessary to provide the required support. Firms that believe they can satisfy this requirement are encouraged to identify themselves. A determination by the Navy not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Navy.
