Description
RECOVERY The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS), plans to procure doubly labeled water isotopes for the Biomarker-Based Validation of Diet and Physical Activity Assessment Tools in Existing Cohorts. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) and 13.501-(a)(1) using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial acquisitions. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 325199 and the business size standard is 1,000 employees. This contract is to provide the doubly labeled water isotopes (oxygen-18 and deuterium) required for the research project, Biomarker-Based Validation of Diet and Physical Activity Assessment Tools in Existing Cohorts. These isotopes are not radioactive. Contractor Requirements: The contractor shall provide: 1.530,000 g of doubly labeled water custom mix (oxygen-18 water, deuterium oxide) The isotope ratio of the custom water mix shall be 9.5% oxygen-18, 5.4% deuterium. The custom mix shall be packaged in 1 L plastic bottles to contain 1 kg of DLW mix (+ 1%), or about 530 bottles, suitable for storage for up to 2 years at room temperature. For each production batch, lot-specific analytical data shall be provided by the contractor, and 5 aliquots (10 ml each) from the beginning, the middle and the end of each production run will be sent to be retained for lot analysis. The period of performance for all tasks shall be for twelve months. Up to five deliveries shall be made: 100 bottles, and the remaining 430 bottles divided approximately equally delivered to up to four separate locations. The Government intends to award a purchase order to the contractor(s) whose response provides the greatest overall value to the Government based on price and delivery time. The government may make one or more awards as a result of this solicitation based on the quantity to be delivered.
