- This notice is being publicized in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring Contracting Officers to disseminate information for proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000. The GSA Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Network Services Division Southwest (7QTC), intends to issue a six (6) month sole-source bridge contract to ensure continuity of services to indefinite-quantity, indefinite-delivery contract GS-07T-05-BGD-0001 awarded to SkyTel Corporation. The estimated value of this six (6) month service extension is not expected to exceed $2,500,000. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) as cited in FAR 6.302-1 “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” The proposed contract is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. The government will consider all responses received by 6:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, October 14, 2009. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining a future competitive requirement. Inquiries will only be accepted by e-mail to the attention of the Contracting Officer identified below. In accordance with GSA Acquisition Letter V-09-02 the justification and approval document will be posted to this notice upon completion of the award action.
