Description

This procurement is for the design and production of one (1) 10 Megawatt 1300 MHz Multi-Beam Klystron, Horizontal Mounting, in accordance with (IAW) the requirements of Fermilab's Specification # 9430-ES-182226 (dated March 31, 2009). The Fermilab NML Sperconducting test facility requires a very high power long pulse Klystron to drive multiple cryomodules using a single RF power source. The 10 MW Klystron will power a number of superconducting RF cavities operating at 1.3 GHz. Important Notes: 1) In order to qualify for this procurement, firms must have successfuly designed and produced Klystrons of similar complexity for five (5) or more years and must provide evidence of this experience. 2) This is a "Best Value" procurement. 3) Since this requirement is funded by ARRA, emphasis for awards (by the Buy America Act) is for award to be made to U.S. domestic firms.
