Description
RECOVERY: The project consists of the construction of open limestone channels, rock sediment dams, limestone ponds, culvert installations, roads for construction access, a settling pond, mine adit seals and a subsurface drain, erosion and sediment control features, and related work for the passive treatment of acid mine drainage at two abandoned mine sites. The Goat Site 1 is located along County Route 7/1 west of Masontown, in Preston County, 1.3 miles from State Route 7. The Beulah Chapel Site 1 is located in the vicinity of the community of Richard, Monongalia County, about 1.1 miles from State Route 7 through Deep Hollow, following County Routes 7/30, 70, and 72. Major items of work include Open Limestone Channels, 12,970 TN; Rock Sediment Dams, 6,420 TN; Limestone Ponds, 84 TN; Culverts, 288 LF; Temporary Construction Access Roads, 1 LS; Earth Disposal, 1 LS; Settling Pond, 1 LS; Bentonite-Sealed Subgrade, 3,040 SY; Mine Adit Seals, 3 EA; 12-inch Subsurface Drain, 528 LF; Silt fence, 2,830 LF; Pollution control, 1 LS for each site; Contractor quality control, 1 LS for each site; and Seeding and mulching, 11 AC, sum of both sites. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The required performance time is 418 calendar days, which includes a winter shutdown. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on, or about Tuesday, October 20, 2009. A Site Showing will be held at 10:00am (local time) on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Masontown Town Hall. Interested offerors may register at www.fbo.gov to receive notification when the solicitation and any amendments are issued and available for downloading. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
