- This action was awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. This is a design-build project for the design and construction of the BEQ at Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, CA. The work to be performed provides for the design and construction of an 18,480 square meter multi-story concrete BEQ with 264 1+1E modules (housing 528 E1-E3 personnel; with a maximum of up to 1056 E1-E3 personnel)(70 square meters each). Modules will include living areas, four walk-in closets, stackable washer and dryers, kitchenettes, and semi-private baths. Project also includes fire protection, antiterrorism/ force protection, and data information systems (such as phone, cable TV wiring, and computer network). Supporting infrastructure includes pile foundation, paving, site improvements, exterior lighting, utilities, storm water pollution prevention best management practices, construction & demolition, waste management, and antiterrorism/force protection measures.
