Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to purchase software proprietary to one manufacturer as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 " Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements " As it stands, Phoenix Software International is the only known manufacturer of the (E)JES software. The requirement is to purchase a total of 89 additional MSUs for (E)JES software and maintenance on system 94. This will upgrade Phoenix software on System 94 from an IBM z10 2097-703 to an IBM z10 2097-704. This software is used to provide real-time information about jobs and resources in a Multiple Virtual Storage/Enterprise Systems Architecture environment. The (E) JES software consists of interactive panels that assist authorized users to monitor and control jobs, printers, queues and other system resources. The software also provides SSA with increased data security and accounting information. Current total MSU level is 6,931 increasing by 89 to a level of 7,020. Any vendor capable of providing software that can perform the essential requirements must present electronic/written evidence of such capabilities by September 29, 2009. The evidence must include a discussion of how the software would satisfy the proposed requirements. The Government does not intend to pay for information received and does not intend to provide evaluation results to the sender. All responses must be sent to Mike.DeAngelis@ssa.gov by Tuesday September 29, 2009 12:00pm EST.
