Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract in accordance to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Providence VA Medical Center requires the MassARRAY to work with existing equipment. This purchase consists of one Mass Array Compact System with Server and RT Workstation. Under statue 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Providence VA Medical Center intends to make a sole source award of this requirement to Sequenom. The proposed contract action is for the Mass ARRAY Compact System with server and RT workstation. The Government intends to award to only one source (Sequenom) under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). This is the only vendor who produces this system. This company has proprietary software rights for the data acquisition and system controls and broad patents for the MassARRAY. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available.
