Description
This is a Sources Sought announcement. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) for an Alternate Display Computer (ADC). THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. SCOPE: The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division is seeking information on commercial availability of rack mounted computers that may be suitable for use as the Alternate Display Computer. Partial specifications are as follows: The ADC shall fit into a 2 unit 19 inch rack space on slides. The main body without slides shall have dimensions not to exceed 19 inches wide by 17 inches deep by 3.5 inches high. The ADC shall weigh less than 20lbs. The ADC shall be compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux operating systems. The ADC shall have a video card that supports dual or single displays with a minimum of 256 Megabytes of video RAM. The video port(s) shall be capable of rendering displays of at least 1024 rows by 1280 columns of pixels with at least 24 bits color resolution. The ADC shall have at least one 2.4 Gigahertz Core2Duo Extreme class X86 processor or equivalent. (Two or Four cores are acceptable). The ADC shall have two USB 2.0, at least one, but two is desirable VGA ports (splitter cable is OK), one RS-232 port, two 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet ports (RJ45 receptacles), and room for two PCI expansion cards accessible from the back panel. The goal would be to maintain an arrangement as comparable to the existing to minimize any changes to the cable arrangements leading to the back of the computer. The ADC shall be capable of operating in a Naval, Sheltered environment when mounted in a shock isolated military type EIA standard 19-inch rack cabinet. The detailed specifications for this item are Distribution Limited, and interested parties are asked to submit their request for these documents to the contract specialist identified below. Upon verification of information submitted by the interested parties, copies of the specification will be provided. RESPONSES: Interested parties may provide electronic or paper submittals to the Government by 4:00 p.m., 31 October 2009. There is no specific format or outline that submittals must follow. Each response must reference the RFI title and must be limited in length to three (3) typed pages. Interested parties should provide supporting literature and documentation that shows that their proposed product meets or can meet the requirements of the specification. Telephone responses will not be honored and email submittal is preferred method of contact. Technical Questions should be directed to Byron T.
