Description

Question 10: What is the coverage of the pieces being printed. (For example if the piece is 1” what portion of the piece being fed will be printed on?) Answer: Print area is variable. On the order of 1 cm to 1.5 cm would be typical. For a high throughput implementation it could be quite a bit smaller (few mm) Question 11: If it takes one minute for some to dry do you need to buffer the samples or run slower for that specific product. Can UV or other types of dryers be used? Answer: Solvents used are alcohols. The volume dispensed typically governs how long we need to dry. Buffering of samples or slower throughput could also be used. 1 minute would be at the more extreme end of the range. We have not yet experimented with a dryer system. UV would not work due to UV degradation of the product but printing onto heated substrates or a heat lamp system may work.
