Description: DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive award to Florida International University in Miami, Florida for the following deliverables to be delivered to Reston, Virginia by September 30, 2009: 1.) Field work to collect samples by 31 December 20102.) Processing of field samples and subsequent chemical or physical analysis by 31 December 20103.) QA/QC of analytical results and entry of data into databases by 28 February 20114.) Transform, analyze, and summarize data by 28 February 2011. There are no options periods for this contract. Florida International University is the only known source for this requirement because it: - Has more than a decade of experience performing research on the characteristics of floc in the Everglades- Has more than a decade of experience successfully conducting field work in the logistically challenging Everglades wetlands- Has the necessary airboats, trucks, and field instrumentation available to support the field work- Has more than a decade of experience conducting the highest quality laboratory measurements of the physical, chemical, and biologic attributes of wetland samples- Has the necessary laboratory QA/QC plans to ensure high quality data- Has the necessary laboratory instrumentation to make high quality measurements of the chemical characteristics of floc as specified in the Statement of Work- Has more than a decade of experience analyzing and interpreting biogeochemical and ecological data from the Everglades. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
