Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Thermo Electron North America, 5225 Verona Road, Madison, WI 53711 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302-1 Only One Source Reasonable Available, to procure replacement parts and installation for its Thermo Scientific Advant'XP wavelength dispersive spectrometer. The FBI requires installation services, one (1) 3.6KW- X-ray Tube (PN: S703059) and one (1) Water Chiller (PN: R-175-BCP). Based on extensive market research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, Thermo Electron is the sole provider of replacement parts, installation and service agreements covering their products. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 10:00 AM, EST, Monday, September 14, 2009 by e-mail at Lynda.Theisen@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. In order to be considered for an award, a quoter must have completed the online electronic Representations and Certifications located at http://orca.bpn.gov/ in accordance with FAR 4.1201(a) and must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database at http://www.ccr.gov.
