Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR RUNNINGORDER FOR GAS CYLINDERS AND MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF VARIOUS GAS CYLINDERS. Companiesshall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the officialamendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The due date for receipt of offers IS extended to 09/11/2009.The purpose of this amendment is to ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:1. The main question we have is regarding the required 10 day delivery after pickup. Doesthis apply to all gas types and maintenance services? While we do fill some of the gasesand perform maintenance services locally at our Portsmouth facility, some gases requirefilling at our facility in Rockville, MD. This means those gases and services wouldrequire 2-4 weeks to return To NASA LaRC. Could there potentially be enough cylinders inrotation at NASA LaRC to accommodate this? Depending on the type of gas we can accommodate the their rotation schedule. In somecases(Argon and Argon/CO2 for example) we simply don't have enough cylinders for a 4 weekturnaround.2. The minimum purities of 99.998% on Argon, Technical and Nitrogen, Technical. Can theypotentially be 99.5% minimum purity, as with the Oxygen, Technical? No. Our requirements call for 99.998% purity.3. Is it possible to do a delivery site survey for safety and accessibility purposes? Yes.All other terms of the solicitation remain unchanged.
