Description
This action to support the Navy mission was awarded sole source to an 8(a) certified firm in accordance with the Small Business Act, Section 8(a), (15 U.S.C. 637(a)) Business Development Program. The project is to renovate Building 2084 into general office space and a large training area. Building 2084 is approximately 10,000 square feet and was last actively used for office space and document storage in 2006. Since then, the building has been temperature conditioned but documents only have been stored in the building. The majority of the space was last used as a cubicle area, and the majority of the cubicles having been demolished. Existing Parking consists of approximately 65 spaces. There is no fire suppression/sprinkler system in the building, but a functional fire alarm system is in place. The fire alarm transmitter has been removed from the building. The building HVAC system and plumbing system have remained active and are functional. The HVAC system consists of a cast iron boiler and several DX cooled AHUs of various sizes. The main system is known to be functional; the small ones are thought to be functional. Last year a water leak near the mechanical room allowed mold to grow on the common gypsum board wall and surrounding carpet; molded wall covers approximately 70 square feet visible, and approximately 100 square feet of carpet. This damage shall be removed by mold remediation that will be part of this project.
