Description
PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (Revised 8 Sep 2009) DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project consist of performing additional repairs to correct physical security deficiencies at USAR Army Reserve center in Ramey, PR. Work included in the project is described in the detail description of work and as shown in contract drawings. Work includes: Secure existing windows in storage rooms with the installation of new expanded metal grilles, reinforced with 1 x 1 galvanized pipes as per detail in drawings, to cover existing doors and wooden louvers at selected locations in Bldg 807 and 808. In addition, cover existing metal windows and wall air conditioning units. Drawings will specify inner or outer installation of expanded metals. All metal grilles shall be painted with one coat of corrosive paint and two coats of enamel paint (Color to be selected by owner). Apply spot paint in areas damage by construction with same color paint. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The required work is as follows: The description of the required work herein and on the plans is general in content. The Contractor shall visit the project area and meet with the Contracting Officer (CO) or his/her Representative (COR) to assess and define precisely the extent of the required work and to verify project site dimensions and sizes. Iron grilles protection in windows, doors and woven louvers walls along corridors 1. Window grilles of 9-6 x 5-2 reinforce with 1x 1 and expanded metal as per details in sheet A-1. a. Bldg 807- Storage Rooms- 112, 227, 229, 306, 308, 310 and 317. b. Bldg 808- Storage Rooms-215, 219, 221, 229, 230, 312, 315,329,330 and 332. Note:Grille System to protect window A/C units shall be similar to existing system at project site. 2. Grilles of 7-9 x 10-0 reinforce with 1x 1 galvanized metal and expanded metal including wooden louvers and doors of 3-0 x 7-9 as per detail in sheet A-1. a. Bldg 807- Storage rooms- 112 and 317. b. Bldg 808- Storage rooms- 219,221 and 312. STANDARS: The Contractor shall meet the Armys Corps of Engineers specifications guidance and industry standards in material and workmanship for the quality of the finished work. PROJECT SUPERVISOR (PS): The Contractor shall designate a Project Supervisor responsible for all aspects of the projects work. The Project Supervisor shall be knowledgeable in standard construction practices and with the authority to make decisions demanded by the project. GOVERNMENT PROPERTY: The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to Government property and shall make all necessary repairs at no cost and to the satisfaction of the Government. SAFETY: The Contractor shall consider, apply, and comply with all applicable safety requirements stated in OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910 & 1926 - General Industry and Construction http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owasrch.search_form?p_doc_type=STANDARDS&p_toc_level=0 ) and with the Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 SAFETY AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS MANUAL (http://www.usace.army.mil/CESO/Pages/EM385-1-1,2008new!.aspx). WORK EXECUTION: No work shall commence without the authorization of the Contracting Officer. Rubbish and debris generated as part of this project shall be removed from the Installations premises on a daily basis and disposed of at an approved facility designed for this purposes.
