- VA-261-09-RP-0365, POLYSONOGRAM, FOR SLEEP APNEA DISORDERSThis is a combined synopsis/solicitation posting for commercial items prepared in accordance with (IAW) the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or reply to proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to 7 September 2009 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This solicitation VA-261-09-RP-0365 is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-36. Only emailed requests received directly from the requester are acceptable. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 541990 and the business size standard is 7 MIL. ITEMDESCRIPTIONThe EMBLETTA System is unique in the ability to provide both a pressure and temperature transducer for respiratory flow monitoring in a portable level 3 sleep monitory systems. Both of these measurements of respiratory flows are part of the standard scoring recommendations by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The X100 is unique among the EMBLETTA systems in its ability to provide safe patient extended monitoring including EMG, EEG, and if the need should arise EKG. The EMBLETTA is a Level 3 Sleep Disorder Study system that is used in the performance of portable sleep studies, and is the standard that the VA is using for the diagnosis of the Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS).
