- Description
- In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Acquisition Management System (FAAAMS), Section 3.2.1.3.12, industry is hereby informed that the FAA has a requirement over $100,000.00. The FAA has a requirement to procure brand name only, UNICOR Cubicle and room identification and directional signage. This is a brief description of some of the special features: Each sign to include specific cubicle or room number (raised letters and braille conforming to ADA handicapped requirements. Th signs will be Removable/interchangeable occupant or room name, and blue or green applied stripe to identify/distinguish between government and contractor personnel for occupied spaces. Include special theft proof brackets for installation on cubicle partitions and velcro attachments for room walls. Include limited number of matching directional signage at key locations (to be designated) to help in locating specific cubicles/rooms. The products are compatible and offer interchangeability with existing standardized furniture components in use at the WJHTC, specifically the UNICOR Classic XX! System. The products include special bracketing which interlocks with the existing standardized furniture components in use at the WJHTC, specifically the UNICOR Classic XX! System. A special key is needed to remove the brackets, thus, providing a reasonable deterrent to unauthorized removal or misuse. Cubicle signage is metal construction with a cubicle/room number tag, an occupant name tag and a metal support bracket which locks to the cubicle partition splines with a special allen key. The metal support bracket provides a very positive attachment and prevents accidental removal as well as casual attempts at theft. The sign itself has raised lettering and Braille for the cubicle number tag (as required for handicapped accessibility relative to permanent room designations), vinyl lettering for the occupant name, and vinyl blue or green striping to indicate the occupant as a federal employee or contractor. The name tag portion of the sign is removable (through use of a special allen key). The FAA intends to compete this contract under the authority of FAAAMS, Section 3.2.2.5, Commercial and Simplified Purchase Method. The award will be a Firm Fixed Price purchase order to a single vendor. Please email quotes by September 10, 2009 by 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time to james.l.Crawford@faa.gov
