- RECOVERY --- This procurement is being funded via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). PROJECT INFORMATION: The Burns District Office of the Bureau of Land Management requires the labor, equipment, tools, and materials to precommercially thin, cut, machine gather, and machine pile 251 acres of Western Juniper trees in the Bluebucket performance units, and precommercially thin, cut, machine gather, and machine pile 256 acres of Western Juniper trees in the Otis Valley work units in the Burns vicinity. The work consists of providing more growing space for selected trees by cutting competing trees and machine piling the slash. The units are located in the transition range from western juniper woodlands to ponderosa pine/Douglas-fir forest. The cutting is a mix of precommercial thinning and juniper cutting. Machine piling shall be done concurrent with cutting and no more than 10 acres may be cut without being piled. Vicinity and Project Maps outline access roads, Bluebucket performance work units 1-5, and Otis Valley work units 1-3. The corresponding NAICS Code for this contract is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry. This project is priced between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The estimated start work date is October 15, 2009. This solicitation will be posted electronically at www.FedConnect.net (paper copies are no longer available). THE ESTIMATED ISSUE/POSTING DATE OF THE FULL, DETAILED, SOLICITATION IS ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 3, 2009. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Full or partial funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract. The Awardee will be subject to Section 1512(c) of the Recovery Act which requires each contractor to report on its use of Recovery Act funds under the awarded contract.
