Description
The US Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center, Natick, MA is conducting a market investigation in conjunction with the Product Manager-Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment to identify domestic products, suppliers and manufacturers of full body, restraint systems with the capability to meet military requirements established for the Family of Restraint System. The U.S. Army is interested in identifying firms with products, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities to provide a full body, restraint system or device. The system must have a double lock capability requiring a common key or key equivalent to reverse. The system or device must be impact, cut, fray, corrosive and tamper proof, as well as be designed to allow for both day and night use. The system or device should have a minimum operating life/shelf life of at least 10 years and be operable in all climates. Interested sources must, within fifteen (15) days following the publication of this synopsis, respond with information on their current commercial product(s). Interested sources shall include information detailed in the FedBizOps Note 25 regarding a firm's experience, personnel, and facilities. Information should include product cost, technical information (i.e., technical literature, patents, data and illustrations/photographs to include operating instructions, type of finish, weight and dimensions, materials of construction and mechanical strength, certification of compliance with NIJ Standard 0307.01 for Metallic Handcuffs, if applicable, and any other technical data and test methods/data available), relevant company background/experience, and warranty information. Firms may also submit a product sample (optional). Firms responding shall indicate whether or not they are a small business. Any information/samples submitted will not be returned. If a firm chooses to submit samples, no payment will be made by the Government for such samples. Responses to this notice are to be sent to Mr. Christopher Pentheny, U. S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Command, Natick Soldier Center, 15 Kansas Street, ATTN: RDNS-WPW-E, Natick, MA 01760-5019. This notice is for market research only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. No solicitation document exists. The information received under this announcement may be used to purchase items for Government testing and/or prepare a solicitation package.
