- Description
- (RECOVERY ACT) The National Institute on Aging, IRP intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a competitive basis for the purchase of a 10 MHz Digital Monochrome Camera with charge multiplication gain capability air-cooled, MetaMorph Basic Software, with complete microscope control option under the Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. This notice may represent the only official notice. In the lab of Cardiovascular Services (LCS); at the National Institute of Aging, this equipment purchase will enable the lab to perform single molecule bioenergetics in which the lab isolates a single molecule of ATP synthase, and under direct microscope observation measure simultaneously single icon channel currents coupled to icon gradient-driven ATP synthesis measured by extremely low light noise-to-signal, cooled photon-counting detector (EMCCD) camera coupled to a microscope with the most efficient light collection system sealed in a light-tight box. The lab will also measure the rotational dynamics of a water wheel-shaped part of ATP synthase coupled to the icon flow responsible for this rotation. In addition this equipment purchase will improve resolution for vascular measurement in mice providing more reliable data. Interested persons may indentify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice is a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to June 28, 2009 will be considered by the Federal Government.
