- Under the authority of FAR 13.106(b), the Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office is negotiating a sole source labor hour award to Hopewell Designs, Inc., 5940 Gateway Dr., Alpharetta, GA 30004, for a maintenance and service agreement to support DOE-ID's automated irradiator software (AIS). Hopewell is the OEM that constructed and installed the custom-developed automated process control system for which this software supports. The maintenance and service agreement is for one year with two optional years. Under this agreement, Hopewell will provide non-routine maintenance, on-call service, and software support through an authorized representative of the AIS which operates the following systems: control; software control; database software; source shielding and transfer; and safety interlock. The cost per hour will be $130 with an estimated 154 hours per year. Travel for the year is estimated at $4,000. Each optional year will have an increase of approximately 6%. Total estimated price will be $79,000 for the three years. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award to the vendor listed. Responses are due by September 15, 2009, 3:00 p.m. (MDT).
