- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 13.106(b), the Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office is negotiating a sole source award to the small business entity Standard Imaging, 3120 Demming Way, Middleton, WI, 53562-1461 for the purchase of six (6) A4 Exradin Spherical Shonka-Wyckoff Air Equivalent, 30cc Chamber at $2,500 ea. and four (4) A5 Exradin Spherical Ion Chamber, 100ce at $4,000 ea. Total award will be for $31,000. DOE-ID is in need of chambers to replace the Capintec Model PM-30 Ionization Chambers that have become obsolete. We have selected Exradin as the chambers to replace the Capintec chambers as they must meet DOELAP standards: Radiation Field 137Cs, 60Co, X-ray Fields and must be able to establish traceability and verify traceability. No other brand has been found to meet these requirements and no other small business vendor has been found that can supply these. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award to Panasonic. Responses are due by September 16, 2009, 3:00 p.m. (MDT). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to surrusjk@id.doe. Telephone requests or inquires will not be accepted.
