- U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) intends to execute an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity for engineering support for the MH-47G aircraft. The contract will cover the engineering services for non-recurring engineering (NRE) efforts in support of MH-47G aircraft. The proposed NRE efforts includes but not limited to: Studies and analyses to investigate material failures and degradation of performance occurring in fielded aircraft structure, systems and components; Engineering Change Proposals to develop and incorporate airframe, system or component improvements to the MH-47G aircraft; Provide instrumentation, data collection, data reduction, data analysis and associated reports to support ground and flight testing; Technical support to the MH-47G post production modification programs and Publications and Provisioning source data and General Engineering Support. The proposed acquisition is planned as a sole source acquisition with The Boeing Company, Boeing Defense and Space Group, Stewart Avenue and Route 291, P.O. Box 16858, Philadelphia, PA 19142-0858. The period of performance shall be solicited as a three year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for supplies which the Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. The Boeing Company is the sole manufacturer of the H-47 family of aircraft. The contract is releasable to U.S firms only. Requests from U.S. firms must be submitted in writing to the above address and must include business size. All responsible U.S. sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The associate North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 336411; the business size is 1000 employees. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.1. This notice of intent is not a request for a competitive proposal; however, the Government will consider all proposals received by the specified due date IAW FAR 5.203 (a). A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. The estimated release date of the solicitation is October 2009.
