Description
THIS IS A RECOVER ACT SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for firms that are classified under one or more of the following socio-economic programs: SDVOSB or VOSB. Project 578-07-055 Replace 5KV Underground Feeders at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. Firms must be registered in VetBiz and CCR as a small business under the applicable NAICS. Interested parties should contact the Contracting Officer by e-mail (Laura.silguero@va.gov) or fax (414-902-5420) to assist in determining the type of procurement set-aside, if any, for the resulting solicitation. It is anticipated the resulting solicitation will be issued Late September with responses due in Late October. The construction range is estimated to be between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 and will require bonding capacity in that range. The NAICS code is 238210 with a size standard of $14.0 million. Work includes, but is not limited to, all labor, materials, tools, equipment, instrumentation and services to completely prepare the Edward Hines Jr. VA Campus site for new 5KV feeders in new underground duct, including the removal of existing 5KV feeders, removal and legal disposal of all materials and equipment rendered obsolete, maintain continuity of all services at all times for all on-site systems, and all building systems and utilities during the duration of the project. Provide on-side cable testing, connecting and restesting for the new 5KV underground feeders, certified complete in place, ready for operation in all respects in conformance to the contract documents and all applicable NFPA codes and electrical standards. The firms must also demonstrate their capability of performing at least 25% of the total work with their own forces. Firms having the skills, qualifications and capabilities to perform this work are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey effort to assist in planning for the method of procurement. Responses must include 1. Company Name, 2. Address, 3. Point of Contact, 4. Phone Number, Fax Number, and E-mail Address, 5. DUNS Number, 6. Evidence of Bonding Capacity provided by Surety, 7. Construction Experience as a Prime Contractor for Similar Size Projects and Complexity, 8. Demonstration of Capability of Performing the required 25% of the Work with their own forces. Firms failing to respond to this Request for Information will not be precluded from responding to the solicitation when issued. Firms responding to this Sources Sought will need to respond again to a future separate FBO announcement of the anticipated procurement action in order to receive the solicitation documents. This is NOT a Request for Proposals and the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only.
