- Description
- Recovery - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This opportunity is available only to the Brookhaven National Laboratory management and operating contractor. The management and operating contract was competitively awarded and implements a multidisciplinary science program for the Office of Science. The strategic uncertainties of the experimental research and development outcomes do not facilitate award of a fixed price contract. High Energy Physics Long Baseline Neutrino Experiment [$6,000,000.00] To support the experiment at Brookhaven National Laboratory for preconceptual research and development and the contributions to the conceptual design of the experiment required for Critical Decision-1. Nuclear Physics PHENIX Forward Vertex Detector Major Item of Equipment [$200,000.00] To advance funding for the PHENIX Forward Vertex Detector Major Item of Equipment thereby reducing the cost and schedule risk. The funding will specifically optimize project execution by advancing the schedule for some tasks as compared to the previous approved project plan. Enhance Accelerator Improvement Projects Funding at Nuclear Physics User Facilities [$800,000.00] The funding is used for accelerated implementation of the stochastic cooling in both storage rings and implementation of electron lenses for Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The funding will specifically support accelerator improvement project efforts related to the luminosity upgrade of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Basic Energy Science Nanoscale Science Research Centers [$759,000.00] The funding will be used to update, upgrade, or expand capabilities of the Center for Functional Nanomaterials High-Resolution Analytical Scanning Electron Microscopy to conduct leading-edge science and serve users.
