Description
PM TRASYS, Combat Vehicle Training System (CVTS) - LAV and AAV Driver Training Systems and AAV TT Enhanced Gunner's Weapon Station BACKGROUND INFORMATION:The United States Marine Corps (USMC), in order to meet the gunnery training requirements established in the Operational Readiness Document (ORD) dated 16 Jan 2002, procured the Advanced Gunnery Training System (AGTS) and the Assault Amphibious Vehicle Turret Trainer (AAV TT) to meet the crew gunnery training requirements for the LAV and AAV Community respectively. The USMC has identified the need to: (1) incorporate the vehicle driver into each of the LAV AGTS and AAV-TT gunnery trainers (by improving the existing capability) to help maintain critical skills for the entire vehicle crew, (2) to enhance the current AAV TT gunner's weapon station to provide a more realistic gunnery capability, and (3) to enclose the AAV TT into a self-contained, climate-controlled shelter. NEED:In order to meet additional training requirements for the LAV and AAV crew and section gunnery, PM TRASYS, Combat Vehicle Training System (CVTS) is looking for three separate driver trainer efforts: (1) to improve the current driver's station capability for the LAV AGTS systems, (2) to improve the current driver's station capability for the AAV-TT to allow for more realistic crew coordination and gunnery training, and (3) to procure four (4) full motion six (6) degree of freedom Driver Trainers for the USMC LAV-25. PM TRASYS, Combat Vehicle Training System (CVTS) is looking for two additional AAV TT efforts: (1) to provide an enhancement to the AAV TT gunner's weapon station to include an Out-of-the-Hatch (OTH) view on top of the existing AAV TT, and (2) to enclose the AAV TT (to include the OTH view) into a self-contained, climate-controlled shelter similar to the LAV AGTS systems. OBJECTIVES: The contractor shall develop, integrate and fabricate twenty (20) LAV-25 driver's stations into the current USMC LAV-25 AGTS baseline. The contactor shall develop, integrate, and fabricate sixteen (16) AAV driver's stations (with OTH views) and Gunner's OTH views on top of the existing AAV TT. The contractor shall develop, integrate, and fabricate sixteen (16) climate-controlled shelters and place each of the sixteen (16) enhanced AAV TT's into its own dedicated, self-contained shelter. The contractor shall develop, integrate and fabricate four (4) full motion fidelity [six (6) degree of freedom (6Dof)] LAV driver stations. All vendors with an appropriate product relating to the objectives are invited to submit a Capability Statement. Capability Statements should discuss the products' capabilities against potential requirements, the products' system requirements, and any other relevant information that would enhance the Government's understanding of the information submitted. This is a Request for Information (RFI), not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Written response is requested within 30 days after publication of this notice. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
