Description
RECOVERY WORK PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: RLI-01 INVASIVE VEGETATION CONTROL - FEDERAL NAVIGATION PROJECT COMPREHENSIVE RECOVERY LINE ITEM (ACQUISITION DESCRIPTION): Treat Brazilian pepper trees SOLICITATION NUMBER: W912EP09C0005P00005 DESCRIPTION: RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CURRENT CONTRACTOR. W912EP-09-C-0005-P00005 - This contract was not awarded as a fixed price type because uncertainties involved in contract performance did not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. As such, a cost-reimbursement type action was awarded (FAR 16.301.2) Treat Brazilian pepper trees along the Caloosahatchee River from Hendry Iles to Ortona Lock on the north and south side of the river. Large Brazilian pepper trees will be treated using the cutstump method. Trees will be mulched and the mulch will be disposed within the removal area. Small trees with a DBH of less than 1 inch will be treated using the basil bark application method. A follow-up treatment will be conducted within 6 months of the initial treatment in order to treat any vegetation missed, re-growth or new seedling growth. The additional funding of $450K is based on current expenditures of approximately $20,500.00 per week.
