- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations on a non-competitive basis with John Bean Technologies Corp (JBT) located in Ogden, UT. The Government intends to procure qty 40 additional Large Landbased Air Conditioner production units (P/N: L100000) under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, as JBT is the original equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and sole source designer and manufacturer of the Large Landbased Air Conditioner. The Large Landbased Air Conditioner is a trailer-mounted landbased unit with the capability of supporting the C-130, C-40, C-9, P-8, E-2, and P-3 military platforms to satisfy the operational needs of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The Large Landbased Air Conditioner will supply conditioned air to aircraft equipment and avionics compartments during ground maintenance. The Navy does not possess a technical data package to permit the development of the landbased air conditioner by any source other than the original designer. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
